Job Description A Software Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for designing the high-level architecture of software systems and ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with business and engineering goals. They set technical standards, evaluate technologies, and guide development teams in implementing robust, maintainable solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise and strong collaboration to drive cohesive system design across projects and teams. What You'll Do Lead the design and execution of complex architecture projects, including large scale refactoring efforts, improving application scalability, enhancing security, and managing queues or distributed systems. Assist in formulating strategic technical roadmaps for both short-term fixes and long-term improvements. Contribute code as needed across multiple programming languages and tech stacks, employing best practices in code hygiene, performance, and security. Review code and offer mentorship to other engineers as needed. Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams to build and maintain deployment pipelines (CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.), spin up and manage infrastructure in various cloud services, and triage infrastructure related issues. Rapidly assess and resolve critical issues across various teams. Act as a key resource for solving system outages and other high-priority incidents, including being available during emergencies. Constantly seek opportunities to improve processes, reduce technical debt, and enhance system reliability. Work closely with other engineers and stakeholders, sharing knowledge and best practices. QualificationsExperience and Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 10+ years of professional software development experience. Key Responsibilities Design and implement internal tools, accelerators, templates, automation, and AI-enabled workflows that improve developer efficiency and software delivery quality. Serve as a technical architecture partner for engineering teams, helping define solution patterns, development standards, and platform best practices. Develop and maintain applications, services, APIs, integrations, and developer tooling using C#, .NET Core, and .NET Framework. Create and improve technical documentation, onboarding guides, reference architectures, reusable examples, and engineering playbooks. Partner with teams to modernize development workflows using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms. Support database development activities, including creating, modifying, and running SQL Server stored procedures and queries. Improve CI/CD pipelines and release automation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, CircleCI, or comparable platforms. Collaborate across departments to understand business needs, remove engineering blockers, and translate technical concepts for executive stakeholders. Promote secure, scalable, API-driven development practices across front-end, back-end, and platform engineering efforts. Support containerized and Linux-based development environments using Docker, Linux, and command-line tooling. Required Qualifications Expert-level experience with C#, .NET Core, and .NET Framework in production software environments. Expert experience with AI-enabled development tools and workflows, including Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar developer productivity platforms. Strong experience with SQL Server, including the ability to create, modify, execute, and troubleshoot stored procedures. Expert-level proficiency with Git and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, CircleCI, or similar automation platforms. Experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, observability, secure software delivery, or platform engineering practices. Azure and AWS preferred. Experience with Docker, Linux-based environments, and Linux command-line tools. Experience implementing or integrating authentication and authorization flows using OAuth; Auth0 experience is strongly preferred. Deep understanding of web fundamentals, including HTTP, browsers, APIs, REST, security, and API-driven architecture. Demonstrated ability to develop tools, documentation, standards, and AI-enabled workstreams that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of other developers. Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and non-engineering departments while communicating effectively with executive stakeholders. Experience leading technical discovery, architecture reviews, proof-of-concept development, and cross-team implementation planning. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, functions, and migration patterns. Experience designing internal developer platforms, engineering enablement programs, or developer experience initiatives. Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as Vue or React, along with full-stack development patterns. Familiarity with multifamily residential operations, property management workflows, or related real estate technology domains is a plus.
