Job Title: Controller Location: Walled Lake, MI Salary: $125,000 – $185,000 DOE Industry: Manufacturing Employment Type: Full-Time Confidential Search About the Role We are conducting a highly confidential search for an experienced Controller to join a well-established manufacturing company in Walled Lake, MI. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting and experience working with large retail clients such as Walmart, Lowe’s, or other big-box retailers. Key Responsibilities • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll • Manage month-end and year-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost accounting processes • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls • Lead financial reporting and analysis to support executive decision-making • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize cost structures • Manage audits and liaise with external auditors • Implement and maintain ERP systems; SAP Business One experience strongly preferred • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required) • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles • Manufacturing industry experience required • Experience working with big-box retailers (Walmart, Lowe’s, etc.) is a strong plus • Proficiency in SAP Business One or similar ERP systems • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis • Excellent communication and leadership skills
