A Senior Technical Writer/Editor must have experience in editing narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies that will require author attention. Must have experience in the application a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools. Must have experience in meeting with authors and other team representatives to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation. Must have experience in explaining in simple language scientific and technical ideas that are difficult for the average reader to understand. The candidate must reside within the continental US. Responsibilities: • Work effectively in a fast-paced remote work environment by editing narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies that will require author attention often on tight deadlines and turnaround times • Ability to use a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools to create and enhance content for projects and team deliverables • Meets with authors and other team representatives to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation • Be able to explain in simple language scientific and technical ideas that are difficult for the average reader to understand • Provide support and training to end users of a product • Experience as copy editor, writer, proofreader, technical editor • Experience in page or screen layout, design, adherence to known styles and citation methods (APA, ASA, MLA, etc.), familiarity with government, esp. VA, documents, templates Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering, or a related field • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with technical writing, copy editing, or other similar work • Remote experience with a track record of success • Reliable, with a keen sense of priorities and deadlines • Experience in page or screen layout, design, adherence to known styles and citation methods (APA, ASA, MLA, etc.), familiarity with government, esp.
