About the position Responsibilities • Coordinate the admission process and procedures for credential and graduate programs in the Special Education Department. • Provide information on admission requirements and program completion requirements for students. • Assist students with class selection and transcript evaluation using university policies. • Monitor completion of graduate writing requirements and process graduation checks. • Coordinate outreach and recruitment activities, focusing on underrepresented populations. • Organize program overviews and new student orientations. • Maintain and update program websites and social media content. • Participate in meetings, committees, and trainings relevant to the role. • Assist program coordinators with student teaching placements and advisement for re-entry students. • Collaborate with department chairs on content development for student handbooks and forms. Requirements • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a related field. • Two years of professional experience in student services or a related field. • A Master's degree may substitute for one year of professional experience. • General knowledge of organizational management methods and interview techniques. • Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations and advise students on complex matters. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Nice-to-haves • Experience working with graduate programs and students. • Experience in a higher education setting. • Familiarity with Common Management Systems/PeopleSoft or similar systems. • Knowledge of university catalog contents related to teacher credential programs. • Ability to compile and analyze data for program reviews.
