Has the ability to communicate effectively with patients and has extensive knowledge of the products and services that are available. Will onboard and check out all patients properly based on service received. Must be skilled in establishing effective working relationships with other staff as well as external vendors and suppliers. Responsibilities • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them either in person or on the telephone; Must be able to answer or refer patient inquiries. • Optimize patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone effectively. • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying the provider of the patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding the provider of service delays. • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area. • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records. • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. • Recording and fulfilling scripts, updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; filing, verifying, and expediting third-party invoicing and fulfillment. • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; liaising with Office Manager re: scheduling equipment service and repairs. • Protects patients' rights by abiding by HIPAA regulations and maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information. • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. • Liaise with admin and other medical team members pre and post-therapy and participate in shared decision-making. • Accurately use online booking systems. • Assist with patients calling with questions and following up. Qualifications • Educated to GED level • Previous experience working in Customer Serving environments • Experience in a medical setting is preferable.
