Responsibilities Be the Heart of the Building We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working Temp Porter for our one of our premier luxury high rises, 500 Lake Shore Drive, to help keep our community clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walks through the door. You’ll support the building from the ground up—inside and out—by keeping common areas clean, assisting with move-ins, and helping maintain our high standards. If you take pride in a job well done and want to be part of a strong team, we’d love to meet you. *This is a temporary position, working through the end of February or March. What You’ll Do: Grounds & Common Areas Sweep sidewalks, terraces, lobbies, and hallways Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the building Respond quickly to spills, weather-related messes, or other safety hazards Cleaning & Detailing Clean and polish floors, glass, mirrors, brass, and woodwork Deep clean as needed (carpet cleaning, grout scrubbing, waxing floors) Maintain the laundry room, fitness center, and management offices Report any damage or safety issues to the Resident Manager Building Maintenance Support Clean stairwells, service areas, and the compactor room Change light bulbs and help prepare units for new residents Use building systems to log tasks and report ongoing issues Resident & Concierge Support Cover the front desk during concierge breaks Monitor service doors during move-ins and deliveries Assist with unit inspections and ensure spaces look great for tours Special Projects & Events Help set up and clean shared spaces like lounges, rooftops, and gyms Support building events and gatherings by helping with logistics and cleanup Keep shared spaces looking welcoming and refreshed Sustainability & Safety Keep elevators, trash rooms, and amenity areas clean and odor-free Support recycling and compost programs Perform scent and cleanliness checks to ensure the building feels fresh Participate in team meetings and be open to cross-training Compensation: $22.82 / hour Local 1 Union Benefits Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM Days Off: Sunday and Monday Qualifications What You Bring: A strong work ethic and a helpful attitude Experience in janitorial, porter, or cleaning roles is a plus Comfort working indoors and outdoors in all seasons Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for most of the shift High attention to detail and pride in cleanliness High school diploma or equivalent preferred #LuxMaintenance Overview Build Your Career with Related Management Company A subsidiary of Related Companies, Related Management Company (RMC) is a premier owner/operator of real estate, managing hundreds of properties across multiple states and Washington, D.C.
