SUMMARY The Traffic Data Collection Specialist is responsible for setting up and removing video and data collection equipment at traffic study locations, as well as assisting with data processing and backup. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Load and transport video and data collection equipment to various traffic study locations. • Set up equipment at study sites, using judgment to determine optimal positioning for effective data collection. • Retrieve equipment post-study and transport back to office locations. • Back up video data and download information from traffic counters. • Inspect and maintain assigned vehicles. • Repair data collection equipment as necessary. • Participate in daily status meetings to discuss work progress. • Travel out of town or out of state for traffic data collection as needed. • Perform additional tasks as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to frequently lift 30-50 lbs. • Frequent bending, squatting, standing, and walking. • Occasional running. • Frequent hammering of nails into the ground. • Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods. • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
