BEGIN YOUR CAREER HERE AS A JUNIOR INSURANCE ACCOUNTANT! Have you just finished your accounting education and have a passion for accuracy, compliance, and process improvement? Orion180 is seeking a Junior Insurance Accountant to support financial operations in alignment with GAAP and statutory standards. In this role, you’ll handle journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit preparations, contributing to the integrity and efficiency of our finance operations. WHAT YOU’LL DO: • Assist with monthly close activities, including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries. • Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts. • Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis to support management reporting. • Assist in the preparation of both statutory and GAAP financial statements. • Support external audits by preparing schedules and providing footnote input. • Document and enhance internal accounting processes and controls. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred • Experience: Prior work or internship in accounting preferred. • Knowledge: Understanding of US GAAP, statutory accounting, and Yellowbook reporting • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Indexing, nested formulas); proficiency in Outlook and PowerPoint • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high accuracy • Collaboration: Ability to work independently and interact with multiple levels of management • Organization: Exceptional time management and prioritization skills WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU: • Impactful Work: Be a key contributor to the financial health and reporting integrity of a growing insurance company. • Supportive Culture: Join a collaborative team dedicated to excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement. • Dynamic Environment: On-site role with a fast-paced and collaborative team culture.
