Position Overview: The Military Influencer Conference (MIC) is the premier gathering for military-connected leaders, creators, and changemakers. A platform where service, storytelling, and community intersect to create lasting impact. We’re seeking a Senior Event Manager who will serve as the operational and strategic backbone of MIC, leading every phase of planning, execution, and growth. This individual will own speaker management, event technology, community partnerships, marketing, and attendee engagement, ensuring the seamless delivery of one of the nation’s most influential military-connected experiences. This is a leadership role designed for a builder, someone who thrives at the intersection of logistics and vision, understands large-scale conference operations, and can develop long-term strategies that strengthen brand reputation and ROI. This is a high-visibility role designed for a strategic operator and brand ambassador, someone who can drive results behind the scenes while also representing MIC publicly as a thought leader across panels, podcasts, and professional gatherings. Core Responsibilities: 1. Event Strategy & Leadership • Lead strategic planning for MIC’s annual flagship conference and satellite activations across multiple markets. • Translate organizational vision into actionable event roadmaps that scale brand reach and influence. • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for innovation, revenue generation, and community engagement. • Oversee event budgets, production schedules, and KPI frameworks that drive accountability and growth. 2. Speaker & Content Management • Oversee speaker pipeline development, from outreach to onboarding to post-event engagement. • Curate and manage the full agenda, ensuring content aligns with MIC’s mission and sponsor priorities. • Collaborate with communications and creative teams to integrate speaker content into event marketing. • Manage session recordings and ensure consistent post-event content delivery for audience retention.. 3. Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Growth • Build and maintain partnerships with veteran-serving organizations, sponsors, and industry leaders. • Collaborate with sponsors to co-create high-value activations and brand experiences. • Represent MIC externally at military events to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities for collaboration. 4. Event Marketing & Technology • Partner with internal marketing and media teams to drive registration, engagement, and conversion goals. • Manage all event technology systems (registration platforms, CRMs, mobile app, reporting dashboards). • Oversee campaign performance tracking, data reporting, and ROI analysis. • Explore and implement new event technologies to improve attendee and sponsor experience. 5. Attendee & Community Engagement • Develop and execute strategies to enhance attendee satisfaction, retention, and engagement. • Oversee communications and touchpoints across pre, during, and post-event experiences. • Leverage surveys and feedback to refine programming and guide data-informed improvements. 6. Vendor & Contractor Oversight • Lead negotiations and relationships with venues, AV providers, production vendors, and service contractors. • Ensure deliverables, budgets, and timelines are met with precision and accountability. • Supervise all onsite logistics, including registration, partner activations, and speaker coordination. • Oversee internal and external contractors, providing clear direction, deliverables, and performance oversight. 7. Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement • Serve as a visible ambassador for the MIC brand within the military, veteran, and business communities. • Participate in public speaking opportunities, panels, and podcasts to elevate MIC’s mission and partnerships. • Collaborate with media partners to highlight key stories, initiatives, and MIC's impact to national audiences. • Contribute to content thought pieces, op-eds, or guest appearances that position MIC as a leading voice in community empowerment and veteran entrepreneurship. 8. Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement • Produce detailed post-event reports capturing KPIs, ROI, and strategic recommendations. • Maintain dashboards for leadership and sponsor reporting. • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, updating the MIC Playbook to codify best practices. 9. Leadership & Team Management • Supervise and mentor event coordinators, contractors, and agency partners. • Partner cross-functionally with Recurrent Military’s media, creative, and sales teams to ensure alignment. • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and purpose-driven excellence across the events team. Ideal Candidate Profile • A strategic thinker with exceptional execution skills and a passion for purpose-driven events. • Experienced in managing end-to-end production for conferences exceeding 4,000 attendees. • Skilled in event marketing, CRM systems, and registration technology (Cvent, HubSpot, etc.). • Adept at balancing creativity, community, and commercial outcomes. • Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and presenting strategy to executive stakeholders. • Values integrity, service, and innovation, embodying the mission of the MIC community. Qualifications • 7+ years of experience in event management or strategy, with a focus on large-scale conferences or expos. • Demonstrated success leading multi-stakeholder projects and managing complex budgets. • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. • Experience working within the military, veteran, or government sectors preferred. • Willingness to travel 30%% annually for site visits, activations, and event execution.
