Product Engineer Location: New York, NY Company Stage of Funding: Series A AI Software Company Office Type: Onsite (5 Days Per Week) Salary: $160,000–$250,000 + Equity Company Description We're representing a rapidly growing AI software company transforming how organizations manage complex government contracting workflows. Their platform leverages AI to streamline the entire contract lifecycle, from opportunity discovery and proposal development through contract execution and post-award management. Having raised over $40M in funding and serving customers responsible for billions of dollars in awarded contracts annually, the company is scaling quickly and expanding its engineering organization. They are hiring multiple Product Engineers to help build mission-critical software used by organizations operating in highly regulated environments. What You Will Do - Design, build, and ship full-stack product features across frontend and backend systems. - Own projects end-to-end, from customer discovery and technical design through deployment and iteration. - Develop intuitive user experiences that help customers navigate complex workflows and AI-powered processes. - Build scalable APIs, backend services, and internal systems that support critical business operations. - Work directly with customers to understand pain points, gather feedback, and rapidly improve product experiences. - Establish technical patterns and best practices within your product area. - Improve application reliability, scalability, and performance as platform adoption grows. - Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions. - Contribute across multiple product domains while helping create reusable systems and platform capabilities. Ideal Candidate Background - 1–6 years of professional software engineering experience. - Strong full-stack development experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and React. - Experience building and shipping production software in startup or high-growth environments. - Demonstrated ownership of complex product features from conception through production. - Strong product instincts and customer-focused mindset. - Comfortable working across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and data models. - Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with significant autonomy and responsibility. - Strong communication skills and willingness to engage directly with customers. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field. Preferred - Experience at Series A, B, or C startups. - Previous founder, startup operator, or early employee experience. - Experience with Next.js and modern frontend architectures. - Familiarity with workflow automation, AI-powered products, or enterprise software. - Exposure to government contracting, compliance software, public sector technology, or highly regulated industries. - Experience scaling production systems and supporting growing customer bases. - Strong track record of learning new technologies and delivering results in ambiguous environments.
