Recess is hiring an Account Executive to accelerate our provider and parent growth in Austin, and help lead our expansion into our next markets. Play a pivotal role in establishing Recess in Austin as one of our first local sales hires, and work directly with the founding team. You’ll be responsible for pitching and signing up the best camps, after-school programs, and kids’ activity providers to join the Recess platform, while helping build local awareness and encourage parent engagement. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role for someone who loves connecting with business owners, thrives in fast-paced environments, hits ambitious targets, and is motivated by making parenting easier for families. What You’ll Do Prospect New Providers: Strategically build and manage a strong pipeline of high-quality activity providers, from summer camps and after-school programs to unique enrichment classes. Pitch and Close Deals: Own the full sales cycle. Conduct outreach (calls, emails, meetings), deliver consultative pitches, and close new provider partnerships. Manage the Sales Funnel: Track and manage leads through CRM tools, reporting regularly on sales activities and progress toward goals. Ensure Partner Success: Execute a smooth handoff to our onboarding team, ensuring new providers are set up for immediate success on the platform. Be a Local Ambassador: Represent the Recess brand with professionalism and passion at local community events and in every interaction with providers and parents. Provide Market Intelligence: Act as our "eyes and ears" on the ground, relaying provider feedback and local insights to the product and marketing teams to help shape our growth strategy. Who You Are: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a full-cycle sales, business development, or partnerships role, ideally at a startup or marketplace. Proven ability to hit or exceed individual sales targets consistently. Comfortable and effective with outbound selling: including strategic email, phone, and in-person outreach. A clear communicator, energetic relationship-builder, and autonomous self-starter. Highly organized and able to manage a robust pipeline of prospects without micromanagement. Based in or around the Austin metro area and energized by engaging with local businesses and communities. You recognize that connecting with small businesses and childcare companies doesn't always happen between 9 AM and 5 PM. You have the flexibility to schedule meetings on evenings or attend community events on weekends when it is most impactful for building the business.
