RBT CPAs is looking for an experienced Accountant that doesn't want to work more than 55 hours during busy season. That wants to have a work / life balance. In addition, the ideal candidate doesn't want to commute 4 hours a day and appreciates the benefit of having a great place to work from less than 30 minutes from home. The only catch. The candidate we are looking for will have 3 - 5 years of Public Accounting Experience. If you are a staffing agency please do not email that you have candidates available now. Position Summary The Client Service Accountant is responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, bookkeeping, and advisory services to a portfolio of clients across various industries. This position serves as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, responsive communication, and timely completion of assignments that support both compliance and business decisions. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and manage monthly and quarterly bookkeeping for assigned clients, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, payroll entries, and accounts payable/receivable. • Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in compliance with accounting standards. • Assist in preparation of business and individual tax returns, including gathering client data and performing preliminary workpapers. • Coordinate workflow with clients to ensure timely receipt of information and delivery of work products. • Provide responsive, proactive client communication, including periodic check-ins and advisory conversations. • Perform variance analysis and prepare management reports to support business operations. • Support new client onboarding and setup of accounting systems, chart of accounts, and standardized financial processes. • Collaborate with supervisors and partners to identify opportunities to expand service offerings or improve client results. • Ensure compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through continuing professional education. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. • 1–4 years of experience in a public accounting firm or similar client-service environment preferred. • Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles. • Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Xero, or similar accounting platforms; advanced Excel skills required. • Experience with tax preparation software a plus (e.g., UltraTax, CCH Axcess, ProSeries). • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-service mindset. • CPA or working toward CPA licensure preferred.
