Why This Role Stands Out: • Work on some of Michigan’s most visible infrastructure and construction projects, including roadway lighting, traffic systems, airport electrical, renewable energy, utility, and commercial projects • High visibility and collaboration with executive leadership • Opportunity to influence bid strategy - not just execute estimates • Strong partnership with project management, field operations, and vendors • A company culture built on Powered by People and doing things the right way • Hybrid work environment with flexibility built into the role What You’ll Do: • Lead the estimating and preconstruction process from initial review through final bid submission • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates • Build and manage takeoffs, labor projections, subcontractor pricing, and material budgets • Collaborate with project managers, field leaders, vendors, and leadership teams to align scope, risk, and execution strategy • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering solutions • Support strategic bid decisions and project pursuit planning • Assist with handoff and transition from estimating to operations teams What You Bring: • 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, project management, preconstruction, or related construction operations • Experience within electrical, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, utility, or related construction environments preferred • Strong understanding of construction methods, project workflows, and cost structures • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately • Experience with estimating software, takeoff tools, and construction documentation • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills • Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities simultaneously Bonus If You Have: • Experience with DOT, infrastructure, utility, or renewable energy projects • Design-build or EPC project experience • Electrical construction experience • Previous field or project management experience Compensation & Benefits: • $110,000 – $140,000 base salary + performance incentives (based on experience) • Comprehensive benefits package • Hybrid work flexibility • Opportunities for long-term growth and leadership At Rauhorn Electric, we’re Powered by People.
