JOB DESCRIPTION: DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF / PEOPLE OPERATIONS Company: Rank One Computing (ROC) Location: Remote Reports to: Chief of Staff / COO POSITION OVERVIEW As Rank One Computing (ROC) enters a phase of rapid scaling, we are looking for a high-impact Deputy Chief of Staff / People Operations. This is a strategic "force multiplier" role designed to bridge the gap between high-level vision and operational execution. Your mission is to build the "connective tissue" of the organization. You will focus on maturing our human capital functions, streamlining cross-departmental processes, and ensuring that as we grow, we don't lose the speed and clarity that made us successful. ---------------------------------------- CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. HR MATURITY & TALENT STRATEGY You will oversee the evolution of our HR function from a startup administrative level to a scalable "People Ops" engine. * Talent Acquisition: Build a repeatable recruitment framework to attract top-tier AI and computer vision engineering talent. * Performance Management: Design and implement a performance review system that balances accountability with ROC’s high-growth culture. * Total Rewards & Culture: Ensure compensation structures and employee engagement initiatives are competitive and aligned with our scaling goals. 2. OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE You will be the architect of the "ROC Way," defining how work gets done across the company. * Process Engineering: Audit existing workflows and build new, scalable processes for onboarding, project management, and resource allocation. * Scaling Infrastructure: Identify and implement the tech stack (HRIS, ATS, Project Management tools) necessary to support a 2x-5x headcount increase. 3. INTRA-FUNCTION COMMUNICATION As the company grows, silos are the enemy. You will ensure the left hand always knows what the right hand is doing. * Cross-Functional Syncs: Facilitate communication between Engineering, Sales, and Operations to ensure product roadmaps align with market promises. * Executive Reporting: Standardize KPIs and reporting cadences so the leadership team has a clear, real-time pulse on organizational health. ---------------------------------------- IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE Feature Requirement Experience 7+ years in Operations, HR Leadership, or Management Consulting—ideally in a high-growth tech environment. Skillset Exceptional project management, "people person" with an analytical mindset, and a builder's mentality. Mindset Comfortable with ambiguity; able to pivot from 10,000-foot strategy to "in-the-weeds" execution.
