job summary: Senior Java Developer needed to support enterprise application enhancements and maintenance for a Texas state agency. This role focuses on developing and maintaining Java-based applications using Spring / Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL, while supporting system improvements, defect resolution, and ongoing operational support. Candidates must have 8+ years of Java development experience and currently reside in the Austin, Texas area to work in a hybrid environment. location: Austin, Texas job type: Contract salary: $70 - 75 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: No Degree Required responsibilities: Job Responsibilities • Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring frameworks • Build and enhance RESTful APIs and backend services • Implement updates to business logic, application functionality, and reporting capabilities • Write and optimize SQL queries for relational databases • Support application enhancements, maintenance activities, and defect remediation • Develop and maintain unit tests using JUnit • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis • Ensure adherence to coding standards, testing practices, and security policies • Maintain technical documentation and support deployments across multiple environments qualifications: Qualifications - 8+ years of Java development experience - Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Spring / Spring Boot - Experience building RESTful web services - Experience with J2EE enterprise application development - Strong experience writing SQL queries for relational databases - Experience implementing unit tests using JUnit - Experience supporting application enhancements, maintenance, and defect resolution - Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Austin, Texas - Must currently reside in the Austin, TX area Preferred - Experience with Angular - Experience with Crystal Reports - Experience with Power BI Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
