Job Overview We are on the lookout for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to become an integral part of our dynamic facilities team. In this crucial role, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our commercial or residential facilities. Your proactive and thorough approach to cleaning and maintenance will ensure that our spaces remain hygienic, organized, and inviting for employees, clients, and visitors alike. Duties • Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces, using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure a high standard of cleanliness. • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors to maintain a pristine appearance and enhance the overall aesthetic of our facilities. • Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with waste management protocols, ensuring that all waste is handled responsibly and efficiently. • Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and toilet paper to ensure continuous availability and prevent any disruptions in service. • Assist with light custodial tasks such as window washing, dusting high surfaces, or minor repairs when required, contributing to the overall upkeep and maintenance of the facilities. • Support industrial cleaning projects or specialized tasks like carpet cleaning or deep sanitation procedures, demonstrating your versatility and commitment to maintaining high standards. • The job is posted for Wednesdays and Fridays only, with each session lasting no more than 2 hours, allowing for a flexible schedule. • If you are open to it, you can be added to more jobs that are not contractual, such as one-off strip and wax jobs and carpet jobs, providing additional opportunities for work and skill development. Skills • Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles within commercial or residential settings, showcasing your ability to adapt to different environments and meet diverse cleaning needs. • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, including floor care, buffing, stripping, and general custodial practices, ensuring that you can handle a wide range of cleaning tasks effectively. • Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or troubleshooting common issues, allowing you to contribute to the overall maintenance and functionality of the facilities. • Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively, minimizing the risk of accidents and ensuring that all equipment is used to its full potential. • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on hygiene standards and safety protocols, ensuring that all cleaning tasks are performed to the highest standards. • Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment throughout shifts, enabling you to perform your duties efficiently and without undue strain. • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues promptly, fostering a collaborative work environment and ensuring that any problems are addressed quickly.
