RAJ SPORTS RAJ Sports, led by Alex Bhathal and Lisa Bhathal Merage, focuses on investment opportunities in sports and sports-related properties, drawing on the Bhathal family’s multi-generational experience and relationships in the industry. The firm seeks to leverage the power of sports to affect broader social and economic change through a variety of business and philanthropic strategies. Its deep experience in professional sports operations and large-scale real estate developments that create thriving community centers, positions the firm to deliver valuable assets that will support further growth for the players, staff, and fans. In 2013, the Bhathal family became investors in the Sacramento Kings (NBA); subsequently building the platform to include the Sacramento RiverCats (MiLB), Stockton Kings (NBA G-League) and several sports anchored real estate developments. The 2024 acquisitions of Portland Thorns (NWSL) and the WNBA Portland expansion team represents a milestone for the city of Portland and places it at the epicenter of growth for women’s sports THE ROLE: The Manager, Partnership Marketing and Engagement will play a pivotal role in implementing partnership agreements, with a specialization on events and experiences, that bridge partner brands with the RAJ Sports brand, ensuring alignment of values and driving mutual success. The Manager, Partnership Marketing and Engagement will be instrumental in the retention of partnerships, through elevated experiences, brand enhancement, and B2B connection. This role requires a skilled relationship-builder, and strategic thinker who can effectively translate partner objectives into actionable events and activations that strengthen the bond between partner brands and RAJ Sports. WHAT YOU'LL BE UP TO: • Manage execution of partner and RAJ Sports B2B events and experiences, ensuring a seamless blend of partner brands with the Thorns/Fire identity and a shared ethos at every interaction. • Support the partnership marketing team with various partner events, providing best practices, standard operating procedures and execution of Thorns/Fire experiences. • Lead game day special events and partner hospitality experiences. • Oversee planning and logistics, budget management, hospitality management, vendor management, food and beverage, gifting and activation for partner focused events and experiences. • Foster ongoing relationships with event centric corporate partners. • Cultivate enduring relationships, becoming the go-to liaison for partners and a strategic ally in realizing their marketing goals through inventive events, activations and collaborations. • Work in unison with internal teams including marketing, operations, and creative to guarantee the triumphant realization of partnership events and experiences. • Continuously seek opportunities to refine partnership deliverables and drive engagement. Leverage insights and feedback to enhance the value proposition for our partners. • Prepare comprehensive summaries that capture the impact of events, partner collaborations and partnership agreements. • Support with department vendor management, promotional ordering and partner holiday or milestone gifting. WHAT IT TAKES: • Degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field or experience in lieu of a degree. • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in events, marketing, account management, or related roles, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders. • Experience in event execution, including but not limited to planning and strategy, budget management, vendor relations, Run of Show, day-of oversight and more. • Demonstrated ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple priorities. • Knowledge of sports marketing trends, fan engagement strategies, and sponsorship best practices. • Prepared to work flexible and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events, in our exclusive in-person working environment • Passion for women's sports.
