Overview The Pump Product Sales Manager (PPSM) will work in collaboration with Rain Bird Commercial field sales personnel in the California region. This is a sales support role requiring both sales and technical skills for success. The primary responsibility is to grow pump station sales by actively following up on qualified pump station sales leads generated by Rain Bird field sales personnel and distributor partners. The PPSM is responsible for working the opportunity throughout the entire sales and production cycle from lead submittal to successful commissioning of the pump station. The ability to influence and work in a team atmosphere without formal authority is critical in this role. Working as part of a regional turf sales team, the PPSM will also collaborate with Systems Manufacturing personnel to deliver the highest level of customer service and product support to its customers. Responsibilities Follow up on project leads generated by the Commercial and Contractor SBU field sales personnel Gather application data and site dimensions for retrofit project opportunities Confirm coordination of delivery, installation, and commissioning of new stations Post-startup quality and satisfaction check for all new stations Conduct refresher training on pump station operation Basic operational troubleshooting Work closely with Pump Services and Authorized Service Providers to improve customer satisfaction Produce pump station quotations during periods of high demand Develop and participate in strategic initiatives to increase awareness of Rain Bird pump solutions and increase year-over-year pump sales objectives. Communicate relevant market intelligence, including opportunities and threats to Management. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Business, or Marketing) Minimum 5 years of experience selling complex equipment Experience with fluid systems, including pumps and filters Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Exceptional attention to detail Strong sales acumen Able to travel up to 60% of the time and work in hot and humid environments Desired Qualification: Knowledge of irrigation systems Intermediate to expert ability with Microsoft Office software Strong mechanical aptitude High degree of organization Comfortable with complex, detailed applications and equipment Excellent work ethic Salary range for candidates based in California: $132,881.61 - $199,322.41 Salary ranges include base salary and annual incentive bonus if applicable.
