This is a casual, grant funded position subject to renewal by 09/30/2026 Position Overview: The Western Regional Children’s Advocacy Center (WRCAC) is recruiting for a Training & Communications Coordinator to join its technical assistance and training (TTA) team. WRCAC is one of four regional TTA centers funded by the US Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). Since October 2016, WRCAC is managed as a project of the Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children’s Hospital - San Diego (RCHSD). The WRCAC Training & Communications Coordinator works collaboratively with and in support of other WRCAC project staff (based remotely out of state and within San Diego) to advance the growth and development of children’s advocacy centers (CACs), children’s justice centers (CJCs), multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) and state chapters of the National Children’s Alliance in the thirteen states that comprise the western region. The Training & Communications Coordinator will manage logistics for WRCAC events and trainings (in-person and web-based) and launch and manage educational and organizational communications, including through the WRCAC website, an electronic newsletter, social media and print materials. For more information about WRCAC, visit www.westernregionalcac.org. Location: This position is based remotely. Occasional travel, typically within the western region and occasionally elsewhere in the US, may be expected for training, meetings and conferences. Position Roles and Responsibilities: • Manage annual calendar of training and events for internal use and outside distribution, as appropriate • Coordinate logistics for WRCAC-sponsored trainings and events, including outreach, registration, CEUs, certificates, packets, supplies, evaluations, and attendance tracking as well as execute event-day logistics • Create, update and manage online applications, surveys and requests (using SurveyGizmo, Zoom and other software as needed) • Assist in procuring venues, negotiating rates within federal limits, and preparing federal training requests and reporting documentation as required by DOJ • Assist with implementing webinars and online learning initiatives • Maintain and update database of contacts and training/webinar data via SalesForce • Manage and review travel stipends related to training/conference attendance • Assist in development and implementation of an annual outreach and communications plan that includes a quarterly WRCAC Roundup and other targeted communications • Manage and update content for WRCAC website and other online media and provide training and support to WRCAC team to utilize these technologies • Engage and manage consultants as needed to prepare WRCAC promotional and educational materials with a consistent brand, theme and message • Manage the production and dissemination of promotional and educational materials Position Requirements: • Proven history in effectively managing multiple projects at once with strong attention to detail • Self-starter with ability to work independently and as a team member • Dependability in following through on projects within set timeframes • Strong inter-personal communication and customer service skills • Excellent writing skills and capacity to produce clear, engaging products for different audiences and purposes • A good eye for and understanding of visual design concepts for print and electronic materials • Proficiency in and comfort with computer applications and social media (e.g. Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Constant Contact, PowerPoint, Alchemer) and capacity to learn new applications quickly • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally This position is approved and funded by a grant provided through the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), and is contingent upon receipt of continued funding from DOJ. JOB SUMMARY: The Project Coordinator plans, organizes, and carries out a variety of skilled services to facilitate the effective functioning of the Chadwick Center conferences, trainings, education outreach, Clinical Training Program, and/or grant programs. Under the supervision of the Professional Education Supervisor, coordinates education and training activities taught by local, state, national, and international experts. Accountable for all facets of project coordination to ensure activities, objectives, tasks, and deadlines are met according to the program, contracts, and/or grant guidelines. Responsible for marketing and networking to build relationships with the professional community. Travels periodically for various trainings. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree 2 Years of Experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 4 Years of Experience The current salary range for this position is $24.26 to $33.36 Rady Children’s Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable. We demonstrate this commitment by conducting regular market reviews to remain competitive with organizations of similar size in the nonprofit, healthcare sector. The range listed above does not represent the full salary range for the position but is the expected hiring range for qualified candidates. Compensation decisions consider a variety of factors including experience, education, licensure, unique skillsets, organizational need, and internal equity.
