Job Category: Operations Job Type: Full Time Job Location: Fort Worth Hourly Rate: $21-22/hour based on experience SUMMARY: Leadman reports to the Material Manager. Leadman will perform a variety of material movement and material receiving tasks. Verify materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations. Leads the work of receiving personnel performing related work. These duties ensure the Materials Department effectively supports production goals, maintains quality standards, and minimizes operational costs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manufacturing Material Yard Leadman • Assists in unloading of incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment. Ensure the proper storage of materials to prevent damage or contamination. Optimize warehouse and yard layout for efficient retrieval. • Assists with counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is received for production and QC testing. • Inspects shipments for damage or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies QC and/or purchasing personnel. • Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items. • Supplies proof of delivery documents. • May maintain department database after shipments. • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment. • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental control standards. • Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Monitor stock to avoid overstocking or shortages. Monitor material usage to minimize waste and improve efficiency. • May coordinate with purchasing teams to procure materials in line with productions schedules. • Supervise and train material handlers and other team members and monitor team performance. Address team concerns and provide conflict resolution. • Evaluate existing processes for inefficiencies and propose improvements. • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Ability to read and write Bi-Lingual Spanish is a plus but not required. • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel. • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and control standards. • Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers. • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment. • Ability to perform simple arithmetic. • Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods. • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. • Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures • Basic blueprint understanding • Basic computer skills • Use tape measure CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: • Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: • Work involves moderate to heavy exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. • Moderate to heavy physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 65 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (6) hours per day. • Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require strict understanding and adherence to safety precautions.
