Location: Remote: Must be a resident of Southern San Francisco, CA Location Status: Work will be primarily performed remotely from home office. Employee may be required to utilize personal phone and internet services to perform telecommuting with reimbursement according to Race's telecommuting policy. Position Impact: The HR Generalist supports the administration and execution of core human resources functions across the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, compliance, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, and performance support. This role ensures adherence to applicable employment laws and company policies, maintains accurate HR records and systems, and serves as a key resource for employees and managers. The HR Generalist also partners cross-functionally to support HR initiatives, operational needs, and continuous process improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: HR Policy and Compliance: • Administers and enforces company-wide HR policies, procedures, and practices in alignment with corporate objectives and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws • Monitors regulatory changes and supports implementation of policy and process updates to maintain compliance • Coordinates the end-to-end process for ordering, placement, and upkeep of required workplace postings and compliance documentation • Verifies employment eligibility (Form I-9), conducts audits as needed, and maintains compliant records • Supports internal compliance reviews, documentation requests, and audit preparation Employee Lifecycle Management: • Coordinates end-to-end hiring administration including background checks, offer letters, and employment documentation, • Coordinates onboarding execution across departments, and continuous improvement of new hire processes • Coordinates offboarding processes, including system updates, documentation, compliance coordination, communication • Administers employee status changes Benefits, Leave, and Employee Support: • Serves as a primary employee resource for benefits, leaves, and HR programs • Administers leave programs in compliance with federal and state regulations (FMLA, CFRA, and ADA accommodations where applicable) • Coordinates with managers and employees to support accommodation, return-to-work, and disability-related processes • Coordinates benefits administration with carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators Workers Compensation and Health Administration: • Administers workers’ compensation claims, reporting, and vendor coordination • Supports workplace injury response processes and return-to-work programs • Maintains compliance with applicable health, safety, and regulatory reporting requirements • Tracks and documents required incident and health-related records Employee Relations and Performance Support: • Provides guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, performance expectations, and workplace concerns • Supports employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations, and resolution, in coordination with HR leadership and the Employee Success Associate • Assists with corrective action processes to ensure consistency and legal compliance • Supports performance management cycles and manager coaching efforts • Supports rollout of HR initiatives including handbook updates, open enrollment, recognition programs, and internal communications • Assists with engagement initiatives, surveys, and action planning support HR Operations, Data, and Continuous Improvement: • Maintains accurate HR systems, personnel files, and benefits records in compliance with retention requirements • Generates routine HR reports and supports workforce analytics as needed • Identifies process gaps and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience Team Support and Collaboration: • Serves as a resource to junior HR team members • Coordinates or contributes to HR projects and cross-functional initiatives • Provides operational backup coverage across HR Operations functions Additional duties as required. Qualifications and Experience: • Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship • Minimum of 18 years of age • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in a related field of study, is preferred • Minimum of three years related work experience in a developing HR related role, or equivalent combination of education, volunteer, and/or work experience will be considered • Human Resources Management/Professional certification is preferred and may include certificates awarded by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), or through other educational institutions • Proven knowledge and understanding of Federal and California human resources practices, procedures, and employment/labor laws and regulations • Working knowledge of HRIS systems – experience with ADP Workforce Now or TotalSource is highly preferred • Proven experience in managing sensitive and confidential information • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as the primary language used in the workplace • Spanish bilingual skills are desirable Skills: • Proficient use of MS Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; teleconferencing applications • Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software As Part of Our Team, You Will Enjoy: 100% Employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life for all our employees 401 (k) with 100% Employer-matched up to 4% of your annual income Generous paid time off including sick, vacation, holiday and birthday pay Free Race highspeed internet and phone service where available
