Develop and execute strategies to pursue DoD market opportunities, establish relationships with government agencies and industry partners, and lead capture efforts.
Minimum 10 years of experience in DoD or government roles, with 5-10 years in government contracting business development, and experience with US Navy and USMC enterprise challenges.
• Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue new opportunities within the DoD market space aligned with corporate business goals • Identify and pursue a pipeline of new business opportunities that includes opportunity qualification, market information, briefing senior decision makers through all phases of business pursuits, recommend win strategies to include teaming for specific opportunities, and lead capture and proposal development/reviews • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers within government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners to facilitate business growth and enhance our competitive position • Build and manage a robust pipeline of products and product service opportunities, tracking progress and ensuring alignment with company goals and priorities • Fully leverage industry standard DoD opportunity and contract pursuit tools and portals as well as the company CRM software to track and report customer interactions, deal growth, and target accounts • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance company market visibility and establish thought leadership in the government contracting community • Identify win strategies at a detailed level of the competitive landscape and vet potential partners or acquisition vehicles • Lead and coordinate BD resources to include additional BD staff and consultants to achieve strategic corporate business objectives • 10 years of experience working within the Department of Defense, Military branches (preferably USN), or civilian government roles • 5 - 10 years of experience successfully leading business development and capture management within the government contracting industry, with a strong focus on federal markets • A minimum five years’ experience developing and implementing capabilities/solutions successfully pursuing opportunities for complex challenges within the US Navy and USMC Enterprise
