Link, a Quanta company, is seeking an individual-contributor Category Manager with direct experience sourcing electrical substation equipment for large-scale EPC and infrastructure projects. This fully remote position is open to candidates currently residing anywhere in the United States, though the role includes up to 20% domestic and international travel. You'll own hands-on category responsibility across a critical range of components: power and high-voltage transformers, circuit breakers, AIS/GIS switchgear, busbars, capacitors, grounding systems, protection and control equipment, SCADA systems, smart sensors, and digital substation technologies. Working closely with engineering and project teams, you'll qualify suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, manage long-lead equipment, and drive cost, quality, and schedule performance on complex substation builds. This is an individual contributor role—ideal for experienced professionals who want to shape sourcing strategy and deliver tangible results without managing a team. ## What You'll Own You'll execute category strategies aligned with project demand, technical requirements, and sustainability goals. Lead negotiations and manage supplier relationships across key commodities while collaborating with engineering, construction, and project teams to ensure materials arrive on time and within budget. Your work includes forecasting demand, optimizing inventory, and supporting S&OP alignment. You'll onboard and qualify suppliers, monitor risk, and drive innovation across the supply base. Leveraging market intelligence and spend analysis, you'll identify opportunities to reduce cost and increase value. Travel to job sites and vendor locations will be part of your responsibilities, supporting field operations and supplier oversight. You'll utilize enterprise systems such as JD Edwards, Salesforce, and Coupa for sourcing execution, supplier onboarding, and procurement planning. ## What We're Looking For You'll bring 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, or category management experience focused on substation or utility infrastructure projects. Deep knowledge of critical substation components—including electrical systems, conduit, transformers, switchgear, and T&D materials—is essential. Proven success in supplier negotiations, contract execution, and supplier performance management for high-value infrastructure projects demonstrates your capability. Hands-on experience with ERP and procurement systems, including JD Edwards, Salesforce, and Coupa, is required. Advanced Excel and data analysis skills support strategic sourcing decisions. You communicate effectively and collaborate across functions, working closely with engineering, project, and construction teams. A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field is preferred; certifications such as APICS, CSPM, or equivalent are preferred. Willingness to travel up to 20% to project sites and vendor facilities as needed is a requirement.
