Who You Are & the Impact You Will Have: The Associate General Counsel, Director – Hyperscale Sales will serve as a key legal partner to the company’s sales organization. This role provides strategic and practical legal counsel on complex customer lease and service agreements and related corporate matters. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with internal contract policies and procedures while supporting fast-paced, high-value commercial transactions critical to the company’s growth. This position requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent judgment, and the ability to balance risk management with business objectives in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. What You Will Do: Lead legal support for hyperscale customer negotiations, including data center leases, build-to-suit agreements, colocation agreements, and related amendments and renewals Partner closely with Sales, Finance, Development, Operations, and Executive leadership to structure and negotiate transactions that align with business objectives Manage outside counsel effectively when specialized expertise or additional resources are required Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts with customers, vendors, and strategic partners Ensure compliance with internal contract policies, approval processes, and risk management standards Support vendor contracting related to hyperscale developments and operations, as needed Identify opportunities to improve contracting efficiency, consistency, and scalability through templates, playbooks, and process enhancements Stay current on industry trends and legal issues impacting hyperscale data center transactions and technology-driven commercial agreements What You Will Need to be Successful: J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials. Six or more years of experience as a lawyer working in the areas of contract negotiation, real estate, lease negotiation, and/or corporate law Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Hands-on, self-starter who is disciplined and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting that requires a highly accurate and timely work product Excellent listening, written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to learn ERP systems Excels in a team-oriented work environment Strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), Box and DocuSign Excellent analytical, time-management, judgment and decision-making skills Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality Possess ambition and an optimistic attitude Ability to manage competing priorities and demands on time Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills Able to take initiative with little direction The Perks (and these are just a few!): QRest Sabbatical Employee Stock Purchase QTS scholarship for dependents Eagle Club award trip eligibility Paid volunteer days Tuition assistance, parental leave and military leave assistance Total Rewards This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending and HSA accounts; paid holidays; paid time off; paid volunteer days; employee assistance program; tuition assistance; parental leave; military leave assistance; QTS scholarship for dependents; wellness program, and other company benefits.
