We are expanding our team of account managers responsible for helping to grow our business with academic and government research customers. The Account Manager, Academic and Government, Mid-Atlantic will lead activities to identify and drive opportunities to increase the use of QIAGEN Digital Insights technologies, products, and services at academic and government labs in the mid Atlantic and southeastern united states. This role involves expanding your professional network within new and existing accounts to identify key contacts; Identifying critical issues and proposing software and service solutions; Working closely with other members of the QDI team to pursue sales opportunities, both new and renewal. Responsibilities • Develop a robust understanding of QDI’s portfolio: Ingenuity Pathway Analysis, CLCbio, OmicSoft, HGMD, and COSMIC. Continue learning as our portfolio expands. • Prospect and lead sales of service, data, and software solutions in support of genomics analysis at academic and government research institutions. • Lead negotiation of renewals and expand our footprint at existing accounts. • Establish and grow relationships at all levels of customer organizations, including bioinformatics scientists, PIs, and procurement. • Collaboratively work with a wide range of internal and external functional areas including Legal, IP, Finance, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Sales & Marketing, to develop and maintain effective customer relationships. • Work with your inside sales and field applications partners to develop strategies for new account acquisition and existing account growth. Your Profile We are looking for a high energy, detail-oriented sales representative with the experience in the genomics space who is passionate about bioinformatics and the future of data in research. The ideal candidate will have: • A life sciences degree (preferred) • Experience in genomics, next generation sequencing data analysis, or pathway analysis (preferred) • High sales drive and skilled in scoping the needs of research customers with active listening • Attention to detail with the ability to handle a large volume of renewal and new business opportunities and prioritize time investment to maximize return. Organized. • Experience selling software and/or genomics solutions in academia a plus. • A self-motivated, quick-learning, and high business-acumen focus • Residency in the Mid-Atlantic region. • This position is a remote sales position, primarily working from home. • Travel is estimated at 35% but is not limited as such. The estimated base salary and commission range for this position is $165-180k. Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
