Position Summary The Catering Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and execution of catered events sold by the Sales team. This role ensures seamless coordination between front-of-house staff, logistics, and client expectations. The manager will lead the hiring, training, and supervision of servers, bartenders, and event support staff, while collaborating closely with the culinary team to ensure flawless event execution. Key Responsibilities Staff Management • Recruit, hire, and onboard servers, bartenders, and event support staff. • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are well-versed in service standards, safety protocols, and event procedures. • Schedule and assign staff to events based on operational needs and skill sets. • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback. Event Execution • Collaborate with the Sales team to understand event requirements, timelines, and client expectations. • Partner with the culinary team to coordinate food preparation, presentation, and service logistics. • Oversee all aspects of event setup, service, and breakdown. • Ensure all equipment, supplies, and staffing are in place for each event. • Troubleshoot on-site issues and provide hands-on leadership during events. Operations Oversight • Maintain inventory of catering supplies, uniforms, and equipment. • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. • Monitor operational budgets and control labor costs. • Coordinate transportation logistics for staff and equipment to off-site venues. Client & Team Communication • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational aspects of events. • Communicate effectively with internal departments including Sales, Culinary, and Logistics. • Foster a positive team culture focused on excellence, accountability, and hospitality. Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in catering, hospitality, or event operations management. • Proven leadership and team-building skills. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
