Duties & Responsibilities • Encompasses a mix of tax reporting and financial compliance responsibilities. • Prepares state and local non-income tax returns for assigned states in a timely manner using applicable tax preparation software. • Engages with 3rd party registered agent and provides information to ensure timely filing of annual reports and other regulatory filings. • Analyzes state and local non-income tax source data and initiates revisions/corrections needed to bring into compliance with statute and jurisdictional requirements. • Works closely with management to facilitate tax reporting and filing needs. • Prepares balance sheet reconciliations of the month-end tax related accounts. • Responsible for researching issues identified by business clients or in the course of compliance activities, propose solutions and consult with experienced staff as necessary. • Assists with responding to inquiries from and resolves issues with taxing and reporting authorities. • Updates the state and local non-income tax calendars. • Assists with the training of any new hires to the Tax and Treasury team. • Monitors and supports project proposal financial and tax responses (via Tax Admin) along with other members of the Tax and Treasury team. • Works on special compliance projects as assigned. Required Skills • Excellent computer and communication skills, especially in a remote work setting. • Analytical and problem-solving skills. • Effective ability to prioritize and manage multiple activity streams. • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. • Ability to work effectively with and communicate with all levels of management. • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel. • Possess discretion to work with confidential information. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required • 4+ years prior tax and financial administration experience preferred Working Conditions • Remote. • Office travel to events as needed. Supervisory Responsibility • None. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Tax & Treasury. Compensation: Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
