Data Engineer Remote Opportunity Position Type: Direct Hire/ Permanent Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required- This position is not eligible for employer-based visa sponsorship We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Technology Group/GIS team. This role is responsible for architecting, documenting, and developing data architecture models and business reporting applications, as well as providing technical leadership for database development efforts. The ideal candidate will be experienced in complex data mapping and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL/ELT) processes, and will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to design and implement robust data solutions. Key Responsibilities • Conduct complex data mapping between systems in a clear, well-documented manner • Perform data analysis and develop data models to support ETL/ELT development • Design and execute complex data migrations (ETL/ELT) to support development initiatives • Collaborate with software architects, developers, and BI developers on solution design • Mentor software developers on data architecture and database best practices • Assign and oversee medium-complexity database development tasks across multiple projects • Design, document, and develop data integrations with third-party solutions • Review and contribute to data and database design and implementation documentation • Work with IT to deploy solutions into production environments • Contribute to the improvement of development standards, tools, and processes • Provide production support for urgent and critical system issues • Participate in personnel interviews and assist with training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • 5+ years of experience developing data/database systems and integrating with third-party solutions • 5+ years of ETL/ELT experience • Hands on experience working as a Data Engineer on the Databricks Platform • 2+ years of experience architecting data/database solutions and designing integrations • 3+ years of experience working within a hybrid agile development methodology • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies • Experience with cloud-hosted data warehousing platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric • Experience using DBT (data build tool) for data transformation and modeling • Experience with a variety of databases and ETL/ELT solutions If you are passionate about data engineering and thrive in a collaborative environment where innovation is encouraged, we invite you to apply. #PSI2
