BridgeNet's customer base spans Fortune 500 and Global 2000, and with annual logistics spend under management of over $5.4 billion, is well positioned to support its customers' complex global supply chains. Role Summary The Procurement Lead is a specialized resource supporting the BridgeNet 4PL program on transportation procurement and strategic sourcing initiatives, engaged to lead or support freight procurement events as they arise across the program's identified opportunities. This role brings expertise in carrier RFP/RFI management, rate benchmarking, negotiation support, and contract execution, with a focus on delivering direct cost savings through structured procurement strategy. The Procurement Lead works closely with the Supply Chain Engineering team and Client Logistics and Procurement stakeholders to unbundle freight from supplier pricing, establish direct carrier contracts, and build routing guide compliance frameworks that deliver cost reductions targets on specific lanes. Key Responsibilities • Lead and support transportation procurement sourcing events, including RFI/RFP preparation, tender management, carrier evaluation, and negotiation support across target lanes and modes. • Act as an extension and provide strategic support with Client transportation procurement functions. • Develop freight spend baselines and market benchmarks to inform procurement strategies, identify cost reduction opportunities, and establish target rate ranges for sourcing events. • Design and execute carrier direct contracting strategies for priority lanes, working to unbundle freight from supplier- inclusive pricing and establish transparent carrier rate cards. • Analyze vendor-incoterm mix, current service metrics, and mode/lane profiles to identify suitable candidates for direct carrier contracting and routing guide enforcement. • Collaborate with Client Legal and Procurement teams on contract terms, service level requirements, and data-sharing SLAs for new carrier agreements. • Develop routing guides and carrier selection frameworks, embedding approved rates and preferred carrier assignments into TMS/ERP workflows. • Track procurement savings realization monthly and expand carrier direct contracting to additional lanes and vendors as the program matures. • Support leverage of group purchasing organization structures for suppliers that cannot fully unbundle freight or transition incoterms. • Contribute to carrier performance scorecarding, providing procurement-perspective data for on-time performance, dwell, exceptions, and rate compliance. Job Requirements EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE 7–10 years in transportation procurement, freight sourcing, or logistics commercial management with demonstrated experience leading carrier RFP/RFI events and rate negotiations. Required Skills & Competencies • Deep expertise in transportation procurement across ocean, air, road, and project cargo modes, with hands-on experience managing competitive RFP processes end-to-end. • Strong freight market knowledge and benchmarking capability across key global trade lanes relevant to Client's supply chain. • Proven negotiation skills with track record of achieving 15–25% freight cost reductions through structured direct carrier contracting programs. • Experience developing routing guides, compliance enforcement frameworks, and carrier performance scorecards within TMS or ERP environments. • Excellent stakeholder management and commercial negotiation skills with comfort engaging carrier and client executives on rate and service terms. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in oil and gas, energy, or project cargo logistics procurement. • Familiarity with group purchasing organization (GPO) models and collaborative procurement frameworks. • CILT, APICS, or supply chain procurement certification.
