Full Description

Apply knowledge of health care and database management to analyze clinical data, and to identify and report trends. Design and build modern data-centric software applications to support clinical and operational processes across all parts of the healthcare system. These applications leverage cloud computing, big data, data science, and modern software development methodologies and frameworks. Builds data pipelines and transformations, data enrichment processes, provisioning layers, ad user interfaces to meet the requirements of key initiatives. Has a demonstrated ability to mentor and assist less experiences Data Engineers and participate in research and development of new technologies to help set up repeatable processes or templates for other Data Engineers to follow. Strongly encourages and places a priority on collaboration with meticulous source control and documentation. An emphasis on simple solutions to complex problems using modern and emerging methods and tools is critical. This position will work closely with the Product, Platform, and Architecture teams to deliver on joint efforts. Employee has option to telecommute from any state where Providence has offices (AK, WA, OR, CA, MT, NM, TX). Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related. 5 years of experience in the offered role. Requires skills and experience in the following: Cloud computing and data warehousing, Linux, Hadoop, Spark, and other NoSQL platforms. SQL language plus shell scripting or Python or similar languages. Relational database platforms, database design, OLAP/data warehousing. Familiarity working with unstructured and multimodal data file formats and APIs. Understanding of modern application development frameworks. Familiarity with commercial and/or open source ETL/ELT tools. Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
