About the role The Manager, Business Development & Operations Support plays a critical role in supporting Protocol’s growth by enabling the identification, evaluation, and advancement of new partnership opportunities. This role operates at the center of Protocol’s business development efforts, working closely with leadership to manage pipeline activity, maintain CRM integrity, evaluate new opportunities through financial and operational modeling, and ensure smooth execution of the deal process. Reporting to our Chief Commercial Office, this individual will help drive the operational engine behind Protocol’s business development function ensuring leads are properly tracked, opportunities are prioritized, materials are prepared, and processes run efficiently. This role is well-suited for a highly analytical and organized operator who is interested in growing into a more externally facing business development leadership role over time. In this role you will: Own and maintain Protocol’s CRM, ensuring accurate tracking of all leads, opportunities, and pipeline activity Identify, prioritize, and track high-value partnership opportunities using defined criteria, data analysis, and pipeline reporting Build financial and operational models to evaluate new opportunities, including patient volume estimates, provider coverage, and revenue projections Support development of pro formas, business cases, and internal materials to inform partnership decisions Coordinate outreach and meeting logistics with prospective and existing partners, ensuring consistent follow-up and pipeline progression Support the deal process by organizing and managing key documentation, including NDAs, BAAs, contracts, and partnership materials Prepare and maintain presentations and business development materials, including partner presentations and leadership or board updates Coordinate Protocol’s participation in industry conferences, including lead tracking, follow-up, and event logistics Ensure leadership has clear visibility into pipeline performance, opportunity status, and growth priorities Identify and implement process improvements across CRM, pipeline management, and business development operations to support scalable growth Support external partner interactions and relationship development, with the opportunity to take on increasing ownership of customer-facing conversations over time Who are we looking for? 3 to 5 years of experience in business development operations, sales operations, consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, healthcare operations, or a similar analytical or growth-oriented role Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to evaluate business opportunities and translate data into actionable insights Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot, with a strong understanding of pipeline management and data integrity. CRM implementation experience a plus Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive complex processes forward Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing presentations, business cases, or executive-facing materials Experience supporting business development, partnerships, or growth functions in a fast-paced, high-growth, or early-stage environment High level of ownership, operational rigor, and comfort working in ambiguity while helping build scalable processes and infrastructure Experience in healthcare, healthcare technology, or high-growth startup environments is a plus; MBA or other advanced degree is beneficial but not required Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging with external stakeholders, with experience or interest in developing into a customer-facing business development role Why work at Protocol?
