VP of Engineering & Product 🔐 Cybersecurity | Defense | Mission-Critical Systems Salary Range: $200k to $250k Location: East Coast or west of Texas preferred; fully remote We’re partnering with a cutting-edge technology organization focused on securing classified data in high-stakes environments. They are seeking a VP of Engineering & Product to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of next-generation data-at-rest security solutions across defense, intelligence, and enterprise sectors. This is a rare opportunity to operate at the intersection of engineering, product innovation, and mission delivery—shaping technologies that protect critical national and organizational assets. What You’ll Own 🔹 Product & Technology Strategy • Define and lead integrated hardware + software product roadmaps • Drive innovation in data security, Zero Trust architectures, and edge computing • Translate emerging threats and requirements (e.g., PQC, AI-driven risks) into actionable strategy 🔹 Engineering Leadership • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing, cross-disciplinary engineering organization • Oversee teams across firmware, software, and hardware domains • Establish and optimize agile development practices for predictable, high-quality delivery • Own the full product lifecycle—from concept to deployment and sustainment 🔹 Program Execution • Align engineering delivery with customer programs, compliance standards, and timelines • Drive cross-functional execution across product, engineering, and partner teams • Ensure delivery of secure, scalable, mission-ready solutions 🔹 External Engagement & Thought Leadership • Serve as a technical and strategic evangelist • Engage directly with: • Defense and intelligence customers • Federal system integrators and OEM partners • Represent the organization at industry events, briefings, and strategic forums What You Bring • 10+ years of leadership experience in engineering, product, or technology strategy • Proven success leading agile teams delivering complex hardware/software systems • Deep expertise in cybersecurity, encryption, or data protection technologies • Strong track record of building and executing product roadmaps • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at executive levels Highly Valued Experience • Background supporting DoD, intelligence, or national security programs • Familiarity with CSfC, NSA requirements, or National Security Systems (NSS) • Experience with edge computing, embedded systems, or secure storage • Prior work in defense, aerospace, or government technology markets What Sets You Apart ✔ Strategic thinker who can also drive execution ✔ Trusted leader who can scale teams and deliver results ✔ Strong communicator across technical and non-technical audiences ✔ Credible industry voice and thought leader ✔ Mission-driven mindset with a focus on security and real-world impact Why This Role? • Lead innovation at the forefront of cybersecurity and national defense • Shape products that protect mission-critical data and infrastructure • Influence strategy, technology, and outcomes at the highest level
