Develop and execute sales strategies for events including meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and sponsorships, managing sales databases and coordinating on-site event management.
Bachelor’s degree, 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably with expo and sponsorship sales knowledge, strong marketing, sales, organizational, communication, and CRM skills.
OVERALL PURPOSE/FUNCTION: Develop and execute sales strategies for PLRB events to include: meetings and conferences, exhibitions, and sponsorships. Coordinate, manage, and oversee any expos and/or sponsorship programs associated with such meetings, distance learning programs or other opportunities for PLRB. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 1. Assist in the marketing, development, and execution of sales at PLRB meetings and conferences, including exhibitions, sponsorships, as well as digital and distance learning sponsorships. 2. Market and sell sponsorships and assist with expo booth sales for the PLRB conferences. 3. Coordinate, manage, and oversee the marketing, sales, and execution of sponsorship functions associated with the PLRB conferences. 4. Maintain annual exhibit and sponsorship sales/operational databases. 5. Maintain sales and services information retrieval system for exhibitions, sponsorships, and affiliate member activities. 6. Help identify and create a slate of prospective exhibitors and sponsors. 7. Perform other duties as assigned by PLRB Leadership. 8. Travel, as needed, to inspect exhibition sites and execute on-site management of exhibitions and sponsored activities at PLRB meetings, conferences and select other events (6-10 times per year, including over some weekends). QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Education and/or Experience · Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college · Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience required. · Experience with expo and sponsorship sales, and knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance market is desirable. Professional Designations/Licensure/Certificates · None required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities · Excellent marketing, sales, organizational, oral communications, and negotiation skills. · Strong teamwork and project management skills. · Strong computer-user skills, including expert-level competence with Microsoft Word. · Experience and comfort with working in a customer relationship management (CRM) platform, and event-specific tools (e.g., ExpoCad, Cvent) preferred. The job requires concentration, reading, writing, analyzing, organizing, interpreting, communicating, decision-making, and maintaining confidentiality. PRIMARY INTERFACES Internal Reports to the VP Meetings and Education. Coordinates activities with VP Marketing, and Expo Marketing Manager responsible for specific projects, as well as conferences or meetings being supported with an exhibition or sponsorship program.
