We are seeking an Assistant Account Executive or Account Executive to join our growing Washington, D.C. team. This role is designed for a communications professional with 2–4 years of experience who is eager to build expertise in federal policy, stakeholder engagement, and issue management. This position will support a federal clean energy and sustainability account, with a strong emphasis on federal legislative monitoring, deliverable development, sentiment and crisis tracking, Salesforce database maintenance, and earned media monitoring. The Assistant Account Executive or Account Executive will play a central role in maintaining structured monitoring systems, identifying emerging risks, and ensuring data accuracy across stakeholder and sentiment databases. We are looking for someone who is sharp, collaborative, adaptable, and motivated by growth. A strong sense of humor, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, and a passion for building something alongside a close-knit team are essential. You’ll work closely with the Associate Account Director and Senior Director within a cohesive team that values proactive thinking, accountability, collaboration, and good humor. Only candidates residing in the greater Washington, D.C. area will be considered. Responsibilities and Duties • Monitor federal legislative and regulatory activity and prepare weekly structured political monitoring summaries outlining relevant developments and implications. • Conduct stakeholder research and maintain detailed stakeholder maps tracking policymakers, agencies, advocacy organizations, and third-party influencers. • Draft public affairs deliverables, including briefing memos, backgrounders, talking points, FAQs, meeting summaries, engagement trackers, and other client-ready materials. • Track media, policymaker, and third-party sentiment related to client priorities and maintain structured sentiment and crisis databases. • Monitor emerging issues that may impact client strategy and support rapid response planning when necessary. • Maintain and update Salesforce and internal stakeholder management systems on a daily basis, ensuring data integrity and consistency. • Support media monitoring and clip reporting across assigned accounts, identifying narrative shifts and emerging themes. • Produce daily earned media monitoring reports and maintain organized clip archives. • Assist in preparing media analysis and recommendation memos in collaboration with senior team members. • Participate in client meetings and internal planning sessions; support administrative tasks and prepare agendas, notes, and follow-up documentation. • Contribute to slide development, reporting materials, and strategic planning documents. • Support new business research, conference preparation, and prospect tracking, as needed. • Carry out other duties as assigned by the company. Qualifications and Experience • 2–4 years of experience in public affairs, communications, or stakeholder engagement roles in government, non-profit, or agency settings, excluding internships. • Has an intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) • Experience working on Capitol Hill, in a legislative office, a government agency, or a client services firm is a plus. • Working proficiency in Salesforce and/or other CRM platforms is preferred. Work Hours and Work Environment Employees are entrusted to work a schedule that ensures their responsibilities are successfully carried out and that they are reachable by internal and external stakeholders. U.S. employees work two days in the office near Mount Vernon Triangle and three days a week remotely. Business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, with flexibility as needed.
