Position Overview The Director of People Operations will be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for designing, implementing, and managing all core HR technology systems, people-related processes, and end-to-end employee workflows. This role is crucial for ensuring a seamless, scalable, and compliant employee experience, leveraging technology to drive efficiency and provide actionable people data. The Director will report to the VP of Human Resources and begin as an individual contributor eventually managing a small team of direct reports as the company scales. What You'll Do People Technology and Systems Management • Own the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the core HRIS (currently BambooHR) and all related People technology systems (e.g., ATS, LMS, Performance Management, Compensation Planning tools). • Serve as the primary system administrator and subject matter expert for all People systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and integration across platforms (including Finance/Payroll systems). • Develop and manage a technology roadmap that supports the organization's growth strategy and future People team needs. Process Design and Workflow Optimization • Design, document, and continuously improve all People-related processes and workflows, including Onboarding, Offboarding, Benefits Administration, Compensation Cycles, Performance Management, and Employee Status Changes. • Implement automation and self-service capabilities within People systems to enhance efficiency and improve the employee experience. • Ensure all processes are scalable, legally compliant, and aligned with best practices and company policies. Data, Reporting, and Analytics • Develop and maintain robust reporting capabilities, providing leadership with key People metrics, dashboards, and data-driven insights (e.g., headcount, turnover, diversity, engagement, compensation analysis). • Manage and execute data audits to ensure compliance and accuracy across all People systems. • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for business leaders. Compliance and Risk Management • Ensure all People Operations processes and systems adhere to local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations. • Manage the annual benefits open enrollment process, working with brokers and carriers, and ensuring seamless integration with the HRIS. • Oversee the administration of all employee documentation and personnel files. Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration • Lead and mentor across the HR function, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Partner with Finance and Payroll to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and reporting. • Collaborate with IT to manage user access, system security, and technical integrations. • Act as a trusted advisor and partner to HR Business Partners and business leaders on all operational and technology-related matters. • Support M&A diligence and integration for the employee lifecycle. What You'll Need • 5+ years of progressive experience in People Operations, HRIS management, or a related field. • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing HR technology and operational teams/functions. • Proven success in implementing and managing a major HRIS. • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field required. • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) or HRIS certification is a plus.
