Overview We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain process, ensuring that materials are handled, stored, and transported safely and efficiently. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move materials within the facility. • Load and unload materials from trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques are used. • Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking material movements and updating databases as necessary. • Organize and store materials in designated areas to optimize space and accessibility. • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns. • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols. • Assist in preparing materials for shipment, including packaging and labeling as required. Skills • Proven experience in material handling or warehouse operations is preferred. • Strong understanding of safety protocols related to material handling. • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification is a plus). • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks for extended periods. • Strong communication skills for effective teamwork. • Basic computer skills for inventory management systems are beneficial.
