Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Remote Mental Health Counselor to provide high-quality mental health services via telehealth platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and diverse counseling modalities, with the ability to support clients across various age groups and mental health conditions. Duties • Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and ICD coding standards. • Provide individual and group counseling sessions focusing on mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, addiction, behavioral challenges, and developmental disabilities. • Utilize evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), art therapy, dance therapy, and psychopharmacology when appropriate. • Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety. • Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical research findings and best practices. • Document all patient interactions accurately within medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management and coordinate care for patients with complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder or chronic pain. • Engage in ongoing research and data collection to improve therapeutic outcomes and contribute to clinical research initiatives. • Facilitate intake procedures and manage social work responsibilities including patient care planning and discharge planning. Experience • Proven experience in mental health counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings, including clinic experience or hospital work. • Strong background in psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral management, social work practices, and addiction counseling. • Experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, and those requiring special education services. • Familiarity with medical terminology related to mental health conditions and behavioral health diagnoses. • Prior telehealth experience is highly preferred along with knowledge of HIPAA compliance for remote service delivery. • Skills in crisis management, grief counseling, gender issues counseling, trauma-informed care (PTSD), and working with people with disabilities are advantageous.
