Job description Position Overview: The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring that all processes are running efficiently and safely. This role involves supervising a team of warehouse associates, coordinating 3PL inbound and outbound shipments (FCL/LCL), optimizing storage layout, maintaining inventory accuracy, and enforcing company policies and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control. • Serve as the main point of contact on the floor for warehouse associates, provide training, guidance, and coaching to ensure team performance and development. • Monitor and prioritize workload based on incoming orders and outbound schedules to maximize space and prevent damage. • Ensure accurate and timely handling of ocean containers, pallets, LCL cargo, and air freight. • Monitor real-time inventory flow using WMS systems. • Troubleshoot real-time issues related to inventory discrepancies, delayed shipments, or order problems. • Coordinate labor resources to meet productivity and accuracy goals across multiple clients/accounts. Process & Compliance: • Implement and enforce SOPs for freight handling, barcode scanning, cross-docking, and quality control. • Lead team training on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and system usage to ensure consistent execution. • Collaborate regularly with other departments to maintain alignment across operations and service standards. • Ensure a safe working environment by promoting and reinforcing warehouse safety policies and best practices. • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including OSHA, DOT, and internal company policies. Qualifications & Skills: • 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in a 3PL or multi-client environment. • Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); experience with RF scanning technology is a plus. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills. • Demonstrate ability to lead by example in a team-oriented, high-volume operation. • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain. • OSHA training/certification is highly desirable. • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for an extended period.
