Operate converting equipment to produce, inspect, pack, and stack products while maintaining quality and safety standards.
High school diploma or GED, 1-3 years manufacturing or packaging experience, math skills, attention to detail, good communication, punctuality, and forklift certification.
Position Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for operating converting equipment by following all standard work to job specifications in an accurate, timely, and safe manner. Essential Duties Include: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. • Produce, inspect, pack and stack envelopes to job specifications and standard work. • Performs quality checks, inspect job samples and completes sign offs. • Maintain production records, equipment logs and computer software entry accurately and timely. • Assemble and disassemble carton supplies throughout job run per job specifications. • Clear jams and restart machinery on converting equipment (at higher machine operator levels). • Monitor and ensure safety compliance as well as good housekeeping, including replenishing, washing, cleaning, organizing, and disposing of waste items. • Supports new machine operator training program and provides breaks to associates, as needed. • Operate forklift safely and maintain updated certification. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • One to three years manufacturing or packaging-based work experience. • Accurate skills in math and ruling; attention to precision and detail. • Demonstrated positive communication and openness to process improvement. • Demonstrated punctual work attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
