Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Sr Payroll Analyst with a technologies company virtual. This is a 6-month contract with a potential for extension. Pay: $25.00 - $30.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Schedule: 8-5PM - Fully Remote Description: The Senior Payroll Analyst will play a critical role in managing end-to-end payroll operations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This position requires deep expertise in Workday HCM, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead process improvements and system integrations. The ideal candidate will ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with multi-country regulations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. What you will do: • Manage and process regular and off-cycle payrolls in Workday HCM for US, Canada, and Mexico. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations, including tax filings and year-end activities (e.g., W-2, T4, CFDI). • Maintain adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and audit requirements. • Configure and maintain Workday payroll components (earning codes, deductions, tax setup). • Troubleshoot payroll-related issues and partner with IT for system enhancements. • Develop and maintain custom Workday reports for payroll accuracy and compliance. • Oversee integrations between Workday and third-party systems (benefits, time tracking, tax filing). • Collaborate with external vendors for compliance and service delivery. • Engage with HR and Finance/Accounting to problem-solve, provide support, and deliver timely communication on payroll impacts. Utilize advanced Excel and Workday reporting tools for payroll analysis and reconciliation. • Identify automation opportunities and lead payroll-related projects, including system upgrades. • Document and implement best practices for payroll operations. • Provide guidance and training to payroll team members on Workday functionalities and compliance requirements. • Act as a subject matter expert for payroll processes across multiple geographies. What we expect of you: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field, or equivalent work-related experience. • Advanced proficiency in Workday HCM payroll and reporting tools. • Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. • Advanced experience with excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, reporting, etc.) or other tools to manage large amount of data and to provide insights to management. • Proven project management, planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively lead tasks and activities. • Strong creative problem solving and analytical skills. • Knowledge of federal, state, and provincial payroll regulations. • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP). • Understanding of SOX compliance and audit requirements.
