Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Director of Pricing (Retail Energy) for a leading energy company. This senior position provides the opportunity to shape portfolio strategies across NYISO, ISO-NE, ERCOT, and PJM retail markets, while partnering with Risk, Sales, and Structuring teams to deliver innovative and profitable solutions. The role requires overseeing complex pricing models, executing wholesale transactions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, all within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Responsibilities: • Set and execute supply strategies to achieve gross margin targets across multiple retail markets. • Oversee historical usage collection, load profiling, and cost-stack estimation, including energy, capacity, RECs, ancillaries, transmission, line losses, and fees. • Execute wholesale transactions, including energy, capacity, RECs, options, and blocks, to support retail positions and structured products. • Monitor risk exposures, maintain limit frameworks, and implement mitigation tactics in partnership with Risk teams. • Build and maintain forward curves, calibrate to observed prices, and document key assumptions. • Ensure pricing models reflect all costs of goods sold and remain current with ISO/RTO rules and regulatory changes. • Collaborate with Sales and Structuring to design retail products, support RFPs, and develop bespoke solutions. • Contribute to development, testing, and maintenance of pricing tools, data pipelines, and analytics dashboards. • Provide ad hoc analysis on market drivers, cost components, and risk/position impacts; present insights to senior leadership. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. • 7+ years of professional experience in the energy industry, including 3+ years in pricing and structuring for Commercial and Industrial customers. • Knowledge of SQL, R, or Python is a plus. • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications. • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple assignments, and maintain accuracy. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Must pass pre-employment criminal background and financial credit checks.
