Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility based in Royal Oak, MI. This is a 3+months assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist II Pay Rate: $46-$56 per hour Location: Royal Oak, MI Schedule: We have multiple shifts- Mon - Fri with/ Rotational Weekends 3:00 PM-1:30 AM; Rotating Weekends, or Mon - Fri with/ Rotational Weekends 6:30 AM-3:00 PM; Rotating Weekends Duration: 3 Months + • The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold. Summary: Performs advanced microbiology testing, analysis, and result interpretation. Supports daily workflow, quality standards, and serves as a technical resource for junior staff. Responsibilities: • Perform high-complexity microbiology testing, including cultures, organism ID, susceptibility testing, and molecular methods. • Validate, analyze, and report results accurately and promptly. • Troubleshoot testing, instrument, and specimen issues. • Maintain QC, proficiency testing, and documentation to meet regulatory requirements. • Assist with training, competency assessments, and workflow coordination. • Follow safety, infection control, and biosafety procedures. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Lab Science or related field. • ASCP certification required; state license as required. • 3+ years clinical microbiology experience. Special Requirements: 1. Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously. 2. Must interact with other departments. 3. Contact with clients may be required, good customer service skills are important. 4. Must protect patient confidentiality at all times.
