Job Overview As our PES Benefits Analyst, you will be an integral team member supporting the Enterprise Benefits model and working directly for the Vice President of Benefits. Project focus will include; assisting with PES’s benefit strategies, including but not limited to development, statistical analysis for financial projections, carrier selection, plan design optimization, employee contribution setting, IBNR valuations, benchmarking, well-being initiatives, and renewal negotiations. The benefits specialist will be responsible for design, development, and deployment as well as managing day-to-day administration and the employee experience across our health and welfare programs. This role is responsible for applying benefits expertise, analytical rigor, influencing, and communication skills to assist in the design as well as monitor and audit benefit programs. What You’ll Do Manage day-to-day processing, employee questions, and vendor relations for PES’s health and welfare plans including 401(k). Apply understanding of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance for all corporate benefit and leave plans. Including analysis and reporting for non-discrimination testing, plan summary disclosure reports, 5500 filings, audit support, ADA, ACA, FMLA, HIPPA, and state and local laws related to disability and healthcare reporting Develop audit and monitoring procedures to ensure accuracy of benefits enrollments, changes, deductions, and contribution reconciliation in internal and vendor partner systems. Includes management of error reporting, troubleshooting, and any system or integration issues Ensure Workday configuration for benefits administration including year-end audit and annual IRS limits are compliant. Partner with HRIS, Payroll, and vendors to reconcile any discrepancies Deliver Benefits Overview as needed and answer plan benefit, eligibility, and cost questions that arise Oversee the leave-of-absence process with the current administrator. Partner with benefits vendors and brokers to ensure a positive employee benefits experience and resolve benefits or claims issues. Monitor and evaluate timeliness, accuracy, quality of vendor partner customer service, and cost-effectiveness Operate as the Open Enrollment project management including financial and participant impact analysis, Workday system and vendor integration updates, and delivery of the open enrollment experience Requirements Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 3-5 years of relevant professional work experience, including expertise in benefit programs including administration, compliance, and data analytics Mathematical, statistics analysis, and spreadsheet skills to create models and solve problems 1-3 years of Workday experience Experience working with Self-Insurance benefit plans Experience in working in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with remote team members in various time zones Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners The base pay for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year, plus a discretionary annual bonus.
