ABOUT THE ROLE: This Lost Time Claims Adjuster role offers an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact by managing and resolving claims efficiently while ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations. You’ll have the chance to investigate claims, communicate with injured workers, coordinate medical treatments, and work closely with legal counsel and medical providers to drive successful outcomes. With a focus on analytical decision-making, negotiation, and customer service, this role allows you to blend technical expertise with strategic problem-solving. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: • Review, examine, analyze and investigate workers compensation claims • Adjust claims according to state specific statutes and regulations • Communicate with injured workers to educate them on the workers compensation process and requirements • Establish claim reserves • Prepare and issue mandated requirements and documents • Coordinate medical treatment for injured workers • Identify cases with subrogation potential and pursue reimbursement • Act as a liaison between the injured worker, legal counsel and medical providers • Review and interpret medical reports • Attend hearings, trials and claim reviews • Process indemnity payments • Audit and approve charges related to a workers compensation claim file • Manage litigation and settlements on a claim file • Maintain appropriate licenses and certifications • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned • Participate in departmental, company and team meetings as needed WHO YOU ARE: • Minimum 5 years of insurance experience- (preferable experience in working claims in Texas) • 5+ years of workers compensation insurance experience • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred • State issued Adjuster’s license (Texas) with a willingness to gain a license in additional states • Ability to operate independently and effectively • Strong interpersonal and organization skills • Strong problem-solving ability • Comfort using internet/online based software • Detail oriented • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel skills) • Strong negotiation skills BENEFITS: • Remote Workplace: Enjoy the ability to work from home or hybrid if you live close to our Charlotte, NC office! • Competitive Salary & Growth: Join a team that thrives on leadership, initiative, creativity, and passion, with a salary that matches your drive. • Time off & Holidays: Generous PTO structure + 13 paid holidays to recharge and relax • Health & Wellness: We reimburse up to $25 a month for gym memberships • 401(k) Savings: We match up to 6% of your contribution • Excellent Health Benefits: Vision + Dental are 100% covered by Prescient and we contribute 85% of medical coverage premiums • FSA Healthcare and Dependent Care: Flexible Spending Accounts to support your healthcare needs. • Employee referral bonuses, Tuition assistance & MORE!
