Role Overview: The Accounting Clerk III plays a vital role within the Administrative Services Group by managing and processing financial transactions accurately and efficiently. This position supports the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to the overall fiscal health of the church. What You'll Do: - You will process accounts payable and receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness. - You will reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records. - You will assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for audits. - You will collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial controls and procedures. - You will maintain vendor and customer account information. - You will support month-end and year-end closing activities. - You will respond to inquiries regarding financial transactions and resolve discrepancies. - You will contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes. What You Bring: - You have at least 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles. - You possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations. - You are proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. - You have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. - You demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in a non-profit or faith-based organization. - Familiarity with fund accounting and grant management. - Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software. - Experience with audit preparation and compliance.
