Software Engineer - AI Delivery Remote: W2 Open-Ended Contract No sponsorship, No Corp to Corp, No 3rd Party Vendors Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Contractor to support the integration of AI capabilities into enterprise applications and infrastructure. This role focuses on application development, cloud infrastructure, and service integration within AI-enabled systems. This is a delivery-focused contractor position requiring strong engineering depth in AWS cloud environments, microservices, and enterprise integration. A significant portion of the work will involve hands-on technical execution supporting MCP gateway implementations and infrastructure components. The ideal candidate is technically strong, execution-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where AI services are being integrated into production systems. What You’ll Do As part of the AI Delivery team, you will build and maintain applications and services that integrate AI components into enterprise systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure AI-enabled solutions are secure, scalable, and production-ready. • Translate functional requirements into practical application and service designs. • Build APIs and backend services that integrate with AI inference endpoints through MCP Gateway and connect downstream to MCP Servers. • Develop backend or full-stack components supporting RAG workflows, LLM service calls, and AI-enabled business logic. • Design and implement cloud-native solutions, primarily within AWS environments. • Develop and containerize microservices to support scalable AI-integrated processes. • Ensure fault tolerance, observability, and security across AI-enabled systems. • Conduct root cause analysis for defects, including MCP routing issues and AI service failures. • Build automated test coverage (unit, integration, and AI interaction paths). • Break down user stories into small, testable increments focused on iterative delivery. • Participate fully in the SDLC from requirements through deployment and production support. • Mentor junior engineers through peer reviews and implementation guidance. • Identify and address security concerns in application design while maintaining delivery velocity. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). • 7+ years of professional software development experience. • Strong hands-on experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms. • Experience building microservices and RESTful APIs. • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker. • Experience integrating applications with MCP Gateway and MCP Servers. • Experience consuming and integrating AI/LLM APIs into applications. • Experience working within Agile delivery environments, using source control and CI/CD pipelines. Preferred Experience • Familiarity with AI code generation tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude). • Exposure to vector databases, embeddings, or prompt-based workflows. • Experience working within distributed systems or event-driven architectures. • Strong analytical ability to evaluate trade-offs in design, performance, and maintainability. • Ability to operate independently with limited direction.
