Position Summary Premier Primary Care is seeking a Patient Care Operations Coordinator (Part-Time) to support our provider in delivering accessible, compassionate, relationship-based care. This role serves as the operational bridge between patients, providers, and healthcare systems—helping ensure care is timely, coordinated, and human. This is a part-time position ideal for someone who is proactive, organized, and energized by helping patients navigate complex healthcare systems. Training is provided, but success in this role depends on initiative, ownership, and follow-through. Key Responsibilities Patient Coordination & Access • Respond to patient calls and portal messages with professionalism and empathy • Schedule appointments, referrals, labs, imaging, and specialty care • Coordinate with referral offices to confirm insurance acceptance and appointment details • Identify and help remove access barriers (transportation, paperwork, eligibility, follow-up) Medication & Care Support • Assist with medication access and patient assistance programs • Communicate with pharmacies regarding refills and medication status • Relay medication updates to the provider Administrative & Clinical Support • Track referrals and follow up to ensure completion • Order labs, imaging, and durable medical equipment per provider direction • Fax and route records, lab results, and reports • Communicate with payers regarding authorizations, coverage, and billing questions Insurance & Billing Support • Verify insurance coverage and benefits when needed • Support billing and payer communications related to coordinated care Training & Growth Support • Assist in creating and refining job aids, workflows, and training resources • Help document repeatable processes to support future team growth and scalability Ideal Candidate • Trustworthy and self-directed, able to work independently in a remote role and meet deadlines with minimal supervision • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning new systems • Strong communicator (phone, written, patient-facing) • Calm, solutions-oriented, and patient-centered • Motivated by meaningful work in a growing, mission-driven practice 90-Day Success Snapshot • 30 Days: Learn systems and workflows; begin patient communication with support • 60 Days: Independently manage referrals, scheduling, and payer coordination • 90 Days: Own daily care coordination workflows and contribute to training resources for future growth Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week Education: • High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: • Administrative: 3 years (Preferred) • Patient care: 3 years (Preferred) License/Certification: • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred) Location: • South Carolina (Required) Work Location: Remote
