The APP is expected to monitor patients, counsel, educate families and to act as a liaison between doctors, patients, families and hospital staff. Responsibilities cover both an inpatient and outpatient setting and include admission history and physicals, pre- and post-operative patient management, discharge summaries, pre-op and post-op assessments. • The current team consists of 4 Cardiothoracic surgeons, 4 PAs, 1 APP that is hospital based and 1 that is outpatient only • Schedule: 4-day work week (Monday – Thursday) • This is a Non-surgical position, primarily IP • Employer will support training and competency education Working together with Advanced Practitioners like you: • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology, surgery and or cardiovascular experience (No exceptions) • Unrestricted NP/PA License Required • Board Certification via AANP or AANCE required for Nurse Practitioners • Board Certification via NCCPA for Physician Assistants • Nurse Practitioners require ACNP certification or if an FNP must have worked in a similar capacity for the past 12 months with supporting clinical logs in order to be considered for a waiver • Functions well in a team environment, contributing to and supporting organizational goals and initiatives • Exceptional interpersonal, organization and communication skills, team player, self-motivated and able to multitask are a must. • The candidate will have a focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.
