Full Description

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is a pivotal member of our executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The COO is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational aspects of our ABA services, achieving operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with our strategic vision and growth objectives, and allowing the Clinical team to focus on high quality service delivery. Key Responsibilities The COO is responsible for various operational and administrative tasks, including operational strategy, policy development, resource management, team leadership, compliance, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis. The COO oversees all of the administrative departments of the company and must know the operations of each department enough to ensure efficiency, collaboration, and inter-department continuity. • Provide leadership and oversight to the following departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and promoting high performance across teams: • Human Resources & Recruiting • Intake & Care Navigation • Assessment & Referral • Authorizations & Credentialing • Facilities Management • Marketing & Social Media • Information Technology & Communication Systems • Translate the CEO’s strategic vision into actionable operational plans, ensuring day-to-day activities support the company’s mission and long-term objectives. • Evaluate and optimize operational processes by implementing new technologies and process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service quality. • Develop, manage, and monitor operational budgets; ensure financial objectives are met through effective expense management and cost control. • Collaborate closely with the Chief Clinical Officer to ensure operational strategies and policies support the delivery of high-quality clinical services. • Lead and oversee key organizational initiatives, including maintaining and achieving company-wide objectives such as Autism Commission on Quality (ACQ) accreditation. • Monitor weekly metrics to ensure operational strategies are successfully implemented and resulting in the achievement of company goals. Examples include: • Phone system data • Learner pipeline metrics • Weekly service hours and utilization metrics • Recruiting and hiring data • Oversee programs and procedures that protect company operations, such as HIPAA compliance, emergency and disaster planning and response, etc. • Oversee policies and procedures related to the safety and well-being of clients, families, and employees. • Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control practices, behavior crisis protocols, and emergency preparedness standards. • Support training in de-escalation, safe behavior intervention, and workplace safety. • Monitor incident reporting, injury prevention efforts, and safety improvement plans. The Chief Operations Officer also serves as the organization’s Privacy and Security Officer over HIPAA compliance and oversees several members of the P&S team. Documentation of special training in this area is required to demonstrate competency and periodic continuing education is necessary for maintaining current best practice expertise. They should have demonstrated leadership experience in healthcare operations, with additional experience in ABA or developmental disabilities considered a plus. Strong skills in strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication are essential, along with a proven ability to lead teams and manage financial operations effectively. Familiarity with relevant regulatory agencies is also preferred. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) must possess a strategic mindset, with the ability to see the broader organizational landscape and develop long-term operational strategies. They should be adept at identifying and prioritizing risk, and at implementing solutions to mitigate, minimize, and monitor those risks. Sound judgment is critical, particularly in knowing when to act independently and when to seek input from colleagues or leadership. This role demands resilience and strong stress-management skills, enabling the COO to serve as a steady, composed, and encouraging presence—especially during periods of challenge or change.
