ABOUT PORTLAND FIRE: Professional women’s basketball is returning to Rip City. On September 18, 2024, the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) awarded Portland its 15th franchise, bringing the league back to the city for the first time in over two decades. THE ROLE: The Portland Fire is seeking a passionate and proactive Manager of Lifecycle Marketing. This role will design and execute strategies that engage fans through their customer journey – from acquisition to retention – across digital channels. This role emphasizes website management, mobile app engagement, email/SMS marketing, and CRM-driven personalization. You will collaborate across departments, including ticketing, marketing, and digital, to achieve ambitious goals for database growth, ticket sales, and fan engagement. WHAT YOU’LL BE UP TO: • Develop and execute messaging strategies to enhance customer engagement and drive revenue across Portland Fire brand campaigns • Maintain and update the organization's website and app on a daily basis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of content. • Coordinate and execute marketing and content campaigns on the website and app, promoting events, merchandise, and other initiatives to drive engagement and revenue. • Draft copy for select email, push, and SMS campaigns targeting different lifecycle stages • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, communications, and digital media, to align email lifecycle campaigns with broader goals • Conduct extensive QA of email, push, and SMS campaigns (i.e., proofread, click-through, etc.) to ensure optimal customer experience • Utilize CRM tools (Salesforce) to segment audiences, personalize messaging, and track engagement across lifecycle stages • Monitor website and email performance and analytics, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement to enhance user engagement and conversion rates. • Support multi-channel acquisition strategies to grow the fan database, including paid media, content marketing, grassroots events, partnerships, and organic digital campaigns. • Prepare regular reporting with actionable insights to optimize lifecycle marketing efforts WHAT IT TAKES: • 3-5 years’ experience in marketing, with a focus on lifecycle marketing or customer retention, preferably in sports or entertainment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; familiarity with CRM platforms (Mailchimp and Salesforce), CMS platforms (Wordpress), and analytics tools and software is a plus. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. • Familiarity with fan engagement strategies, particularly in live sports or entertainment contexts. • Passion for the growth and development of women's basketball, with a vested interest in advancing the sport and engaging fans through digital channels. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred BENEFITS: • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives, Salary Range $70,000-$80,000 • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs. • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement. • Dynamic, collaborative and fun work environment. • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the growth of women's basketball .
